Catalyst for a New Reformation
The ministry of Answers in Genesis can be seen as the catalyst for a new Reformation, the return to the authority of God’s Word. In an age that looks at truth as just mere preferences, people are starving for The Truth that will set them free and bring stability to a culture in freefall.
We praise God for our supporting churches that have seen the vital importance of Worldview Discipleship Ministries and the ministry of Answers in Genesis. They understand that calling America’s churches back to the authority of God’s Word is vital to our nation. It is through their continued support that we are able to proclaim this message.
With mixed emotions, Lois and I have offered our resignation to Evangelical Baptist Missions, effective April 30, 2010. We have greatly enjoyed our time with EBM and will never forget the friends that we have made while serving in West Africa.
The month of May has been filled with the details of transitioning to our new ‘umbrella’ – from Evangelical Baptist Missions (EBM) to Answers in Genesis. Both EBM and Answers in Genesis have helped to make this a smooth process. We have been invited to be a speaker on behalf of Answers in Genesis. We are excited about what God is doing, and about what is ahead in working with Answers in Genesis. Our ministry and message have not changed; Answers in Genesis simply makes it possible to do what God has called us to do more effectively.
We are thrilled to hear testimony from churches with which we’ve shared this message of children who have a new excitement in learning God’s word as their big questions are being answered. They realize that it is exciting being a Christian, for we have The Truth for which the world is craving.
We ask for your prayers for this summer as we will be sharing at 2 camps and a retreat. In the fall, we have 2 Christian school conferences as well as several church conferences.
The Children Are the Key
- Gillespie Update April 2010 -

Lois and I have been called to the most important thing that could be done for the churches of America, building and restoring faith in the authority of the scriptures starting with the first verse. In the few months that we have been sharing in churches, we have seen tremendous interest. God’s people have been inundated with ideas of how science has proven the Bible to be false, and they are craving answers to their questions. Many times these questions are the only thing that keeps a person from coming to Christ. We wish to thank our supporters for latching on to this vision with us and helping us to get this message out across this country.
according to the power that worketh in us,”

“I am happy to commend Bob and Lois Gillespie to you and their new ministry through Answers in Genesis. The Gillespies have served faithfully with the EBM family, both in Ivory Coast and in Niger, West Africa. When God led the Gillespies back to the States, Bob had a great burden for helping the church think through a Biblical worldview. Knowing this would be a transition in their ministry, Bob and Lois were totally open with us at EBM about their vision for ministry, which allowed us the privilege of praying and having input with them and their commissioning church as they searched the will of God for their next steps. Answers in Genesis is an outstanding ministry having global impact. It is an exact fit for them in fulfilling the vision God has given them. We at EBM are sorry to lose the Gillespies, but at the same time are thrilled for this door of opportunity which God has opened to them.” ~Paul Jackson, President, Evangelical Baptist Missions |

ANSWERS IN GENESIS
is a catalyst to bring reformation by reclaiming the foundations of our faith
which are found in the Bible, from the very first verse.
Already Gone
We are enjoying this time of visiting our supporting churches and presenting how biblical Worldview Discipleship is an answer to a problem outlined by Ken Ham in his book, Already Gone. Mr. Ham says that we are loosing a big percentage of our young people by the time they graduate from college. He says that we are not losing them IN college, but that they are “already gone” by 5th and 6th grade, at least in their minds, when they begin to question the validity of God’s Word. (This book is a must read for every Christian worker and parent.) Our ministry has had overwhelming support as parents who already know there is a problem see steps they can take to connect the Bible to the real issues and the tough questions that their children are facing.
One of the aspects of our ministry is not only to expose the problem, but to connect teachers and parents with the available resources that will address the problem. When we first started, we were asked what resources we would recommend. At the encouragement of our pastor, we bought books, curriculum, and videos to display (and sell) on our table. This is purely a service to churches and parents; we sell them at cost. As a barometer of the impact of the message we are giving, we are having trouble keeping our supply in stock and re-order every Monday morning. One weekend almost $500 of materials went into the hands of parents, grandparents, Sunday School teachers, youth directors and pastors. The materials are out there; we are just connecting them with the people who need them.
While our ministry is primarily to the church, it is broader than the local church. I have scheduled several in-service trainings at Christian Schools. Please spread the word that we are available to speak in chapel and for teacher training. While our major thrust is to teach the parents and educators how to do biblical Worldview Discipleship and connect them with resources, we look forward to opportunities to work with college students as well. We were recently invited to share in a campus Bible study. This opens up an exciting opportunity to challenge college students to develop a Biblical worldview. Our hearts are still pulled back to Africa. I look forward to returning to Africa periodically to train Bible students and pastors in two-week modules about the importance of biblical Worldview Discipleship.
We covet your prayers as we develop this ministry that God has laid on our hearts. We are under-supported, but we are trusting that God will take care of that as we minister to others.
Lois is still dealing with some health issues, so continue to pray for her. We are booked up with meetings through January and are now scheduling in churches other than our supporters. Prayerfully consider inviting us this next year to minister to your church in a unique way.
